Default Garmin 2730 Antennae Mount

I have a Garmin 2730 GPS. It also has XM Radio which I love and listen to almost exclusively. The unit has an antennae that is about the size of hockey puck with a magnetic base. I placed the antennae in the fairing of my Ultra on top of the radio. It works great most of the time.

When I am heading easterly in tends to lose the signal. Anyone else have a similar situation or suggestion on a better location?

Try moving it as far forward as possible, if that doesn't work, move it up somehow so it can see the satelite over whatever is causing the problem.
