Default Inherited a '98 Ultra

I recently inherited my Dad's '98 Ultra. It was his baby. We were able to talk a lot and go over things, and I've ridden close to 500 miles. What all should I know about this bike/year? Thanks so much for any info.Inherited a '98 Ultra-i88k5wz.jpg

The only thing I'm aware of is that if it's fuel injected it uses an outdated system (MM) that is different from the current ones. There's not a lot of aftermarket support for it. Looks sweet, but sorry you acquired it the way you did.

Great looking bike! Sorry for your loss! I do not have the information you seek, but someone will.

I think 98 was the last year for the Evolution engine. Don't know much about it, but I think it's a good one! Sorry about your Dad.

Edit: I just noticed the lower fairings are removed. Do you have them? In the hot summer I remove them for local. For long trips I put them back on.

Nice bike! Keep it! The best Evo motor and the MM is just fine, unless you have problems with it. You can update it or change it to a carb if you had to. I'd love to own that bike!!

I owned the same bike and went 65,000 miles in 4 years before I sold it. MM injection is fine as long as you don't 'overbuild' the engine given the MM's limitations. With a Power Commander I managed a fine running bike with flowed heads, EV 3030 cam, high flow air cleaner and a 2 into 1 exhaust.

It was the last of the touring Evo's and is basically bulletproof in reliability.
