Thanks for all the replies. New problem. I received the kit and took it out of the box. Now I realize that the amplifier that comes with the kit is for "rigged mounted" tour paks. Uh oh! Two years ago, I installed a quick release kit and the amplifier mounting bracket in the kit won't mount up to the quick release tour pak rack.

So the next question, what do y'all think? I guess I can mount the amplifier inside of the tour pak...

Will the harness reach that far?

I think so. It was meant to mount under the tour pak, so I assume it should reach the front wall inside the tour pak. I was planning to work on it tomorrow.

The other thought is to mount it to the front wall on the outside of the tour pak. It's a little more exposed there, but I don't have to make a large hole to run the wires inside.

The earlier bagger amps could mount under the Tour Pak and held up quite well. They also could be mounted in the front fairing. From what I remember there wasn't a problem with the harness being too short. Maybe someone else can chime in this. Could this be the case with the Boom Amp ? Just a little food for thought.

Not sure where it would mount inside the fairing.

I figure this one was supposed to mount under the tour pak, so leaving it out in front of the tour pak shouldn't be a problem. The TP has a flap that hangs down covering the area which would give it added protection from any rain, and I don't think it would make the padding protrude or poke my wife in the back. I'll have to eyeball that to be sure.

I hate drilling holes in the tour pak though....

Drilling isn't a problem ... Sharp drill bits and patience ... Always start for the "painted side" Use some tape on the surface where you'll be drilling before you start your holes. Of course always triple check your placement BEFORE you start :>)
