Default Converting air front end to non air.

Has anyone converted their Pre 02 air front end over to standard cartridge style? If so what is involved? I remember reading about this once upon a time and forgot where I read about it.

I have the lowering springs from Progressive already. I just don't know if it is as simple as loosing the tube caps with air fittings in them in favor of tube caps without.

It is that simple. I didn't even bother changing the air caps for something else since you can't see them ona Road King anyway. I just sealed them shut.

Did you change springs? Add emulators? Change anything else? How is the ride?

Mine rides like crap without air in them. Thus my train of thought something is missing.

My front end was lowered 2 inches when I bought the bike. Might as well have welded the sliders to the tubes for all it did for the ride. I raised it back to normal with PS springs and changed the fork oil. Much improved, and I didn't need to add air (I'm only about 175-180 in full riding gear), so I disabled it and tossed the hoses. It rides fine and doesn't dive excessively under hard braking.

Emulators are on my list of things to get someday.

Leave the air lines and fork caps in place. You can use the air fittings to do a fork oil change in 15 minutes instead of 2 hours.
