mine made it 2452 miles before taking a dump. i don't understand why HD won't put quality bearings in their bikes. if HD would just go back to the tapered wheel bearings they used for years the problem would be gone. HD sells alot of these new 25mm bearing(profit) and refuses to fix the problem.

seems there is a issue with the new ones.. I think a class action suit would get their attention.. wonder how many injuries are caused by this??

When my fronts went it started making a clicking sound that I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Up on the jack and you could wiggle the wheel from side to side. The second time this happened it was a growl coming from the front wheel.

I have a 2009 Ultra and have had more than one bearing crap out. Both times I was lucky and caught it in time. My front probably saved me on the second crap out but it warped the disk because I guess they were holding the front tire in place. Someone is going to get killed if HD does not recall and go back to tapered cup and cone. I have old type cup and cone in my 1984 FXRS that have been in there at least 15 years. Change tires, add little grease and away you go.

Is there not a dimensionally identical bearing available from an industrial bearing manufacturer made that will replace the OEM?
