Actually the stock pads have one part number for fronts and a different part number for rear. Just fyi. The fronts end in 08 the rears end in 08B.

and EBC rear sintered brakes for $33 delivered from ebay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/200863169092...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT)
I had a local shop mount and balance and install all new bearings. I did all the wheel R&R and brake labor.

The question is if you are willing to support a local shop in order to help him stay in business should you ever need him. Shops have bills to pay. Personally, I like to support local shops and see the long view. Hopefully if I pay what they ask they will still be around in the future if and when I need them.

If you look at the 2 they look to be made of different compounds. I believe people complained a lot of squealing on the rear once they switched to Brembo. I have both at the house. I'll post up pictures after work. Not trying to argue, I don't see why they would do 2 revisions and give different part numbers if they were identical.

I've never "examined" the HD pads but I can tell you from years of automotive experience that many vehicles have "interchangeable parts" however when it comes to brakes there are numbers ( Brake Edge Codes) imprinted on them that reference to specifics regarding composition and friction materials and performance ... It would/could be that there is a difference between the two pad numbers listed by HD and the aftermarket provider has "combined" the two ... For what it's worth.

I personally don't try to cheap out on the things that keep me on the road (tires), and stop (when a mini van pulls out in front of me). YMMV.
