Default Voltage Regulator/Stator connector

I recently changed the voltage regulator on my '07 RK due to charging issues. The bike wouldn't charge, it would just barely maintain voltage. But it would never get over 12.3ish, even above idle. I thought the voltage regulator was the culprit. However, now, after the new VR is intalled, it won't even maintain voltage. After a 100 mile ride, the voltage was down to 10.

What I'm wondering is if it's possible that I installed the Stator to Voltage Regulator connector incorrectly. The back side of the VR has 3 male pins, and the connector has 3 female sockets, in a triangle shape. There is no keyway to ensure any specific installation. Does anyone know if it matters which pin goes in which socket? As far as I could tell, none of them are marked, so I can't imagine it is specific. Maybe my stator just finally died on me.....

Default Stator

The issue is your stator. The pin configuration your referring to is not an issue. I thought the same thing when I replaced mine. But it is more likely your stator is shot. You can put a meter on it to verify but what your describing suggests time to pull the primary

Quite often one can take out the other.

The stator outputs 3 phase AC voltage. There it's no polarity on the 3 pins. Any combination across 2 of the 3 pins will (should) produce the same AC voltage but will vary with RPM. There is a sticky in the electrical forum that will walk you through the procedures to test the stator.
