Debating engine upgrades on an 88
#12
I ride a 2004 88 incher. My previous bike was a healthy 95 incher in another 2004.
I had fully planned on going to 95 inches with headwork on my current bike but the lack of $$$ stopped me.
I had to settle for less.
I shopped wise and ended up going with Andrews TW 21 cams, PCV with autotune and new spark plug wires ! Also while in there swapped inner cam bearings, tensioners were Cyco and used a Baisley spring in the oil pump bypass. Went with S&S quickee pushrods and new lifters.
I had planned on doing heads and bigger pistons in the future but ended up being so happy with the results I am in no hurry.
I am not small at 250 and wife is maybe 125 and I carry a lot of crap in the bags along with a tourpac on longer rides.
Regrets ?? Sticking with 88 inches I have none but if I still plan on going to 95 or bigger I perhaps would have chosen different cams to better support more inches.
I think the next step someday will simply be headwork to compliment what is there.
