Thinking about a change

It's why I have a road king. With Momma on while touring I have quick detach fairing and tourpak. When solo I run it bare, occasionally with just a wind shield. When touring solo I have the fairing on for tunes and a t bag on the rear seat. It's like 3 bikes in one. With that said I would kill for a hardtail pan with a springer and a jockey shift for ripping around town.

I know I'm going to catch a lot of heat from this thread. Maybe it's the near 100*. I love my 2012 SG and I've dumped so much money into it. But lately, I've been thinking about something lighter. I took a buddy's Wide Glide out and loved it. To be honest, it was a quick ride. I didn't do a lot of miles on it but it felt so good and easier to control.
A month ago, I rode the Snake in TN and it was a bear to control on a SG. Straight up, I don't have the cash for a 2nd bike and I'm not about to give up my SG. But, a man can have dreams, right?

Like some others have said though, get the bike that suits you the best, good luck.

Have you ridden a '14 or '15? Maybe a trade to one of those will help. I know you said you don't want to get rid of your baby but there were many handling improvements made with the Rushmore project. So you still have a Street Glide but may solve the handling. I went from a Yamaha Road Star to my '14 SGS (with a short affair with an '05 Heritage). The SGS is heavier and has the fairing but feels at least as nimble as the Heritage and is much more solid on the highways.
