Default Help with dresser duals and thundermax

I have a 2014 Road King. I installed a set of Vance and Hines Dresser duals. I am currently using a power vision but would like to buy a Thundermax tuner. My question, does the dresser duals have the 18mm 02 bung holes closer up. It looks as though there are two plugs closer to the heads that would be it. I called Vance and Hines but received no call back. Figured Id ask before I pull them off. Thanks

I believe the '10 up are going to be the 12mm bungs. The 09 down are the 18mm. And then theres a shape difference between the 08 to the 09.

What part number did you get?

Curious as to why you want to switch from the PV to the Thundermax? What are you hoping to gain?

Do the plugs in the bungs near the heads measure about 18mm or about 12mm. That will answer your question. I'm guessing in you have bungs near the heads they are 18mm bungs.

Not bustin your ***** but you said "YOU" installed the DD's on your 2014 RK. If this is true then "YOU" should know they don't have the 18mm bungs. They have the 12mm. 18mm bungs can be added but will require you to take the DD's back off and take them to a muffler shop. 18mm bung holes are about 8"s from the heads.

^^^Yeah, what he said^^^ LOL Are you asking because you are not sure of the size? There are two stardard sizes. The 12's , which are usually found down near the stock locations near the cat, but if you are going aftermarket for a tuner, the 4 wire 02 sensors are 18 mm and need to be nearer the heads so the manufacturers would make them close to the head and 18 mm. That is my understanding. I have a 14 RK with Rinehart true duals and Thundermax, I absolutely love it. After initial, it took 3 short rides, then it smoothed out and has all kinds of power. You will love it.

Ok, this is my question. Yes I installed the DD on my 14 Road King. I put the stock 02 sensors into the pipes which are 12mm. Theyre are two plugged areas up the pipes closer to the heads. Im asking if anyone knows if they are the 18mm bungs that I can use for the Thundermax. I cant get to the plugs easily without taking the pipes off so Im asking if anyone knows off hand.

Im looking to switch to the Thundermax because I still get a lot of decel pop with the Powervision. Of course Im running open pipes with unbaffled fish tails, so I don't know if the Thundermax will help. Ive just read up on it and it says that it will. Thanks

I'm not certain what it is your seeing but V&H DD's don't come with both sizes of bungholes.
As far as the PV and decel pop goes, have you tried autotuning to get it out?

I'd keep working with it. The PV will do just as much as the ThunderMax but you've gotta keep at it. Unbaffled fishtails are gonna be hard to control no matter which tuner your using. Not impossible though.
