RE: Has EFI been standard on all Touring models?
In 1995 when EFI was first introduced on the Electra Glides and Tour Glides....there were hardly any. It was more expensive and not many were manufactured. People opted for the carburetor.
When the Twin Cam was introduced and especially when the unpopular Magnetti Marelli EFI was replaced with the current Delphi.....then EFI really took off.
And of course....everything now is EFI.

I actually opted for a carb , and 06 was the last year the carb was offered on a bagger.
Being an old fart/mechanic/tuner , it was just a preference for me.
I made a better deal also on the bike , because most wanted FI instead of the carb.

I am old school and have liked carbs because I understand them better... I now have a FI on my RK and I would never go back (unless I was try'n to make more HP for drag racing..)... With the FI, start ups are "automatic" and no more work'n the throttle to keep it run'n on the starts... no more worrys running at 1500 foot elevation to 10,500 on the same day... better fuel management and mileage... I love the FI.... (but, like computers the young dogs will be way ahead of me on tuning the FI)...
