I had that same issue and read the thread jefla posted. Mine turned out to be the IPB, main shaft bearing, and the main shaft since the bearing went out and damaged it. Get it checked ASAP.

Sure is the IPB,and if you don't upgrade that compensator you'll be replacing many more times.

Interesting, haven't heard that one before.

The compensator usually takes out the starter.
A jacked up primary chain tensioner or an overly tight belt take out the IPB.

For those that don't know, the IPB is actually pretty easy to replace and under a hundred dollars or so to change (the bearing/race/seal).
It just takes a few special tools or you can use a few work arounds that work just as well. I've changed quite a few just using hand tools, a freezer, etc.

Also have never used a new primary gasket kit (lucky) but those are not all the much really so why take the chance if you're doing it yourself.

Yeah; I did - or I should say the dealer did when the issues was fixed. While the SE compensator might help I'm not convinced that I wont have the issue again at some point. My repair was done at 45k and I now have 63k. We'll see as I get more miles.
