This is the response I received in reference to their seat covering the OEM hardware.
"you would have to remove the hardware on your fender to use any of our
seat styles.
It think there are 2 bolts that mount it to the fender. our big seat
w/backrest utilizes only our backrest.

My bad. I went back and reread your post. I was thinking of thestock seat hardware and not the
backrest hardware. Hell. I don't even have a backrest on my bike. SORRY
