I chose a BAL-1 because of the great reviews I've read AND I choose to be seen!! If people don't like it, then pass me. At least I'm seen and etched in their memory by my BrightAssLight!!

Bright is better-If it was legal, I'd put a flashing red 7" LED headlight shining right through the cagers' windshield, and if they don't like it, they can pass me.

I have the BAL-1 on my bike. When I set up the light I have it on the medium setting when no brake is applied, so it looks like the normally lit tail light. When the brakes are applied it strobes 3 x's and then goes steady

No fair! You introduced a "what if" - the thread is about "Bright LED tail lights". So do you have a comment about the tail lights lights?

BTW, just to indulge your attempt to ridicule somebody: If you rode behind me with your bright-as* trucklite shinning in my mirror, well, i would just have to position myself to ride behind you; but then you'd be blinding me with your tail lights. So, I would then have to exercise my option to only ride in the pack when YOU are no where around - simple as that!

I'm not opposed to having bright lights for the general public to see you but it is also my OPINION that it is somewhat dangerous, at the very least annoying to fellow bikers riding in close proximity. If the OP would clarify if he's talking from a driver's point of view - i would take all my comments back; we need drivers to see us by any means possible.

Sounds like they have it set at level three for the running light. I keep mine at two.

And my theory is, they have to see the BAL in order to be annoyed, so its doing its job.

As a rider it makes no difference to me if I am riding behind someone with a bright tail/brake light. It takes about 5 minutes to get used to it and then it is all about the ride!!

Stupid me! I should have checked the "similar treads", i would have seen this topic been beat to death before and would have avoided getting caught-up in yet another one. I'm out..
