Turn signal - Brake conversion issues

Turn signal - Brake conversion issues
My 2000 Road King has had a turn signal - brake light conversion harness on it since 2002. I was taking a ride and my friend, who was following me, said my brake lights was flashing erratically and the running lights were not working on the tail lights. So starts the investigation..
-my brake lever, at times, will not make contact with the "off" brake switch in the RS handbar assembly. Looks like there is wear on the lever tab. If I push on the brake lever with my hand, the brake lights turn off. I have sprayed the boot on the master cylinder to see it it would help in pusing the lever further to engage the brake-off switch. May have to build up the small tag on the brake lever with J&B Weld to push on the switch. I have tried pushing the master cylinder and switch housing closer together, but that did not work. One hear of rebuilding the m/c to fix this issue? Is there a spring in the m/c that should be replaced?
-I cannot be sure the turn signal to brake light converter I installed also turned the turn signals into running lights. I found the old install/information sheet and it does not mention running lights. I checked on the HD web site and they say that version does included running lights.
Did anyone else buy this converter in the early 2000s and have there trun signals now working as brake and running lights??
Thanks in advance,

I checked the bulbs this morning and they are single filament. May guess at this time is the conversion kit is partially damaged as the running lights in the turn signals do not work as running lights.
Interesting how would the single filament bulbs work as both running lights and turn signals/brake with out a 2nd filament? To get this function normally, they use a 2 filament bulb. Does the conversion drop the voltage for the running light function?
Again the trun signal and brake function work fine. Just no running lights.

Suspected it was in the conversion harness as the brake and turning signals worked.
Replaced the Harness and I now have running lights!!
The flickering brake lights were fixed by placing shrink tubing on the RS Brake lever tab that strikes the brake switch in the seperate switch assembly on the handle bars.

Thx for replies.
I don’t know if ACC mode worked differently before versus after the rear r/t/b module was installed. And I agree. Working properly in IGN is the most important. Just based on past experience with my 91 Low Rider, after 10 years I had at least once or twice a year breakdown on the road, and started using the ACC mode more.. so just being conservative in this older RK.
I did just buy an auxiliary rear light bar 68230-97a off eBay that adds 2 rear lights next to the license plate mount. I also bought a Drag Specialies wiring harness that will plug these lights into the stock rear wiring harness right after the r/t/b module. So as part of that, I have to remove the R/t/b module anyway. So while off, I will check the operation of ACC mode with the unit out. And then check it again after I put it back in with the additional rear lights, hoping they also have r/t/b functionality like my existing directional,
Probably between my year and my friends 2014 Road King, the wiring for ACC mode changed. And they added a Body Control Module somewhere along the line, which one or both affected rear lights in ACC mode versus my 2005. In my owners manual, they mention 4 way flashers in 2 places with respect to ACC mode. In both cases it says 4 way flashers can be “left on” in ACC mode, implying to me they have to be activated in IGN mode. In my friends 2014 RK owners manual, there are the same two references, except the wording in one place says “can be turned on” in ACC mode, but other reference says the can be “left on” in ACC mode.
