Default Electraglide Handle bars

Has anyone put on a different set of handlebars on an electraglide? I would like to bring the bars back a couple more inches. Did the cables need changed or was there enough slack to use the stock?

Thats interesting, since I'm looking at putting Electraglide handle bars on my RK along with the flaring as well. I'm fond of Six-bend pull backs but don't know if that will fly either!

I'm not familiar with the RK bars. What is the difference between the RK's and Eglides?

I used the Harley pull back bars. Added about 2" better reach. They make a big difference on comfort. Rather spendy when you are done. You must change throttle and idle cable, clutch cable and front brake line. It also is a fair amount of work pulling everything apart to do swap. Overall I would do it again. I looked at alot of bars before going with the Harley's. One plus with the Harley parts is you get nice braided stainless front brake lines. You may want to spend a little more and also go with braided cables. I am 5' 10" and the bars make a big difference.

I put the Wild1 Chubbies W0575 on my EG. Do a search in this forum, I've covered it and the install several times. No need to swap out cables, just reroute the clutch cable on the inside of the radio bracket.

I'll do another search. The one I found was the one where you were looking at the Wild One WO575 bars.

Did you do a post on the actual install?

I did go to their site though...
Thank You.

I don't think I ever did a full blown how to...

If you have a manual, you can do it. The only problem I had was with the clutch cable...they don't tell you to reroute it, and you need to reroute it inside the radio bracket.

The other thing is to make sure you get a pin puller...that way you don't have to solder all the wires back together with heat shrink.

After I put them on, I had to adjust the height one time...been happy ever since.

Jeepster,

I'll try to do little price checking on the parts to compare to the Wildones that Pilot 1996 is using.
Thanks for the reply.

Mac,
Thanks. Were the bars around $200?
