So, yesterday, almost 3 months after originally posting this, I wheeled my bike out to go for a ride and got the click-click-click of a bike that wouldn't start. Checked my battery connections (again) and still nutting'.

Took the battery out and went up the the stealer to have it checked, bad. Came home with new battery ($170 + tax).

Installed and bam! started right up.

Now when charging the tender goes all the way to green when fully charged (like it did before).

So, when your tender only goes to yellow after a long charge, its telling you your battery is on the way out sooner or later.

Because the Sargeant yelled "Charge!" and the tender chickened out.

Bill had I seen this 3 months ago I would have told you. Now keep an eye on the new battery. If it goes bad you need a new regulator.

My charger also went yellow when I plugged it in until I unplugged the wall plug-in and reconnected it . My battery is brand new . Manual says connect the wall plug-in LAST . Pays to read the manual I found out .

Mine was only one solution to a problem that mystified me . I always say try the easiest solution first . If that doesn't work keep trying to find other solution to other possible problems .

Have had a Sears Diehard battery tender for about 10 yrs. I use it on my mower bat in the winter and on my Road King too. I move it back and forth every few weeks in the winter ( Michigan) from mower bat to bike connection. It has always shown yellow/green constantly. Never goes all the way green. I think what that means is the bat is taking a trickle charge. Never had any problems with any of the batteries I've used this tender on. '07 RK battery is likely the original battery. Mower battery is now about 5 yrs. old and cranks strong too.

My battery tender/charger has 6 and 12 volt options. (Deltran). If it charges at the 6v setting it will show yellow for, in my case, ever. Figured it out the next day. Switched to 12v and it went green very quickly.
