HD Digital gear indicator
Anyone have this and can provide feedback as for how they are holding up? Also how visible/large the numbers are? I don't want nor need one, my neighbor (new rider/older gentleman) is having a hard time remembering what gear he is in with his trike and prett'n near got killed today by stalling in the road during a turn because he wasn't in first gear. I told him about this item that I can install for him, but I wasn't sure how they've been holding up.

Dawg, I have one on my 2012 RK so three years and counting. It's still working fine. The numbers are about 1/2" x 1/2" and blue in color. I can easily read it in bright sun or darkness. When the clutch is pulled in, the display shows dashes instead of the gear number. When the clutch is out (driving or in neutral) it shows the gear or an "N' for neutral. I'm happy with it.
He fell into a 2010 completely stock tri-glide with less than 1000 miles so no Power Vision.

watch your tach...............If you are in third gear? Are Both needles are parallel...right? OK you are in third.
Fourth gear...doing about 40 at about 2 thousand RPM? Yup....you are in Fourth.....about to shift into fifth gear at about 2500 RPM? You
are in 5th. Not rocket science.

I had the HD digital gear indicator on my 2011 Sporty. Worked fine. Display is as Tedjay described. Gears only show when clutch is engaged. Because the gear indicator was around $230, if I were to do it again, instead of a HD digital gear indicator, I would buy a PowerVision for a couple hundred more...more bang for the buck if you will. Besides being a flash tuner, you can set up gauges like RPM, gear, battery voltage, engine temperature, etc. The gear gauge on the PV works like the HD. Install is similar as both are routed to the diagnostics connector.
