I paid a lot of $ for the klunk. I love the klunk. I named the klunk Brenda.

Please don't make Brenda leave...

You do not need to even concern yourself with clutch lubrication unless you wide open throttle dump it regularly. I have been into my primary twice due the alternator spline stripped. The last time (at 43k), I pulled it all out and inspected everything with machinist measuring tools.

The clutch had so little wear, it was unmeasurable with a micrometer..maybe .0005 or so. The internal serrations and external serrations on the disks were still snug. Unless exactly straight, they were still difficult to slide back on.

(think that fit on the disk has some bearing on them sticking and breaking apart that causes a in gear lurch till they separate and break free of the driven and drive disks.

Default Everyone likes pictures...

Was doing the 5k service on my '15 Limited Low today, thought I'd take a short vid of my cold start shift into first, and finding neutral with Mobil 1 ATF...

Brought to you by the good folks at Mobil Oil Co.

Since you did not show it I will ask, did you pull in the clutch before you started the bike?

If not, how long did you hold in the clutch prior to putting bike in gear?

The bike was started in neutral. The whole timeframe is in the video. I did back the bike out of the garage with the clutch in & in gear.

The reason I asked the question is because no matter what I have in the primary if I pull the clutch prior to starting a cold bike it will not clunk. Same goes for once it is in gear unless the clutch is released while in neutral anyone can go in and out of gear without the clunk. don't get me wrong here. I am a supporter of ATF but want things to be clear.

That still did not answer my original question, was the clutch pulled prior to starting?

Sorry, should have been clearer.... the clutch was released every time the bike was shifted. Reved it up somewhere in there too.
