Hard to get both. I went from the stock SG to a HD Sundowner. Good for both of us and a lot smaller than the HD stock touring seat. I went and demo'ed a bunck.

how a seat "looks" only matters when the bike is parked.

how a seat feels should be the prime consideration.

and if you keep her happy ( well...best you can) then you'll be happier

all the touring models ( of same frame series) can interchange seats- if it takes an ultra seat to make the miles easier- then go for that...used ultra seats are cheap- under $100

as far as looks, it should only matter what you see through the windscreen.

extreme examples are the show bikes- which have a "look" and are applauded for being duckpaddled across a parking lot.

I do use a 09/10 version SG seat when solo on my FLHTC- but swap to the stock ultra seat when carrying a passenger or going distance.
My SG seat gives great support for twisties, but only good for 4 hours...painful at 6

I got the Hammock seat for my wife's comfort and it is a huge monstrosity. But I re-covered it to match my solo seat and it looks amazingly good for such a large (but extremely comfortable) seat.

I use an upgraded Harley P&A seat for a 2002 Road King for riding two up on my '06 Glide and a P&A seat that closely matches the stock seat for riding solo. Both have been recovered in plain black Naugahyde and both are very comfy.

I have the hammock. I leave it on all the time and no one has ever criticized the look of my seat. Sets me back a little, which I needed. My wife complains about the comfort, but that's more because of my sitting position than it is the cushion of the seat.

I use the Mustange wide touring. I have tried several different seats and the Mustange always ends back on. It seems as though once your *** finds that magic mate there is no changing. I personally think that all the Harley seats that come on the bikes from the factory suck.

I love my Mustang solo. I can run it solo most of the time, and it only takes 30 secs to install pass. seat for the wife. I have a drivers backrest that can easily be switched to pass. backrest so I do not need 2. Very comfortable seat for me, and the pass. seat is available in 2 widths. If you are not leaving it on all the time, get the wider one for when she's along.

i've got a russell day-long after trying a number of seats to include mustang. its fugly but my *** can't see it but it sure can tell the difference when its not on. as mentioned earlier, when you find the right combination its great although it might cost you a dollar or two to get the right one cause you seldom find it on the first try.
