Default Quietest pipes

Yea, i know, this will confuse some. The very idea of wanting to be quiet!

04 road king, basically stock. Has stock electraglide pipes, i think. Very quiet, and i like that.

But im wondering if its ever been identified which mufflers were/are the very quietest?

If there were something even quieter, I'd be game for them.

Not 100% sure, but I think you have them already

Yep, can't much argue with that. Might want to get rid of that noisy Harley and get ya a Gold Wing.

also stay with the stock air cleaner housing- it is engineered to be quiet.

the 'stage 1' most of us do defeats the noise emissions of the intake and exhaust- this "uncorking" allows higher flow and results in 7 to 10 horsepower gained.

the supertrapp disk system mufflers can be almost as quiet as stock ( depending on the owners setting), but are high flow- good for performance
they are probably the quietest performance pipe

I have a set of slipons off a 2008 California Ultra Classic with the cats in the muffler (that have been gutted) and they are still quite as a mouse. They are yours for 25.00 plus actual shipping cost..

It would be hard to find something quieter than stock unless you made them yourself.

It certainly does not exist in the aftermarket.

I run stock pipes on my 03, with an open element air cleaner, PCIII and 509 gear drive cams.
Yes I know I am leaving HP on the table, but I can leave the house at 5 AM and not wake the family up.

I can't do that with the stage 4 103 with V&H pipes

I agree with the Supertrapp Supermeggs w/ the discs. Some say it can produce as much HP as any pipe and can also be super quiet. I had a set and sold them because they were too quiet. That exhaust w/ 18 discs per side and the closed end caps will give you great performance and you can still show up late for church on your scooter w/out offending anyone!

The pipes on my 15 Ultra Classic were really quite. Like I thought it was a new feature quite or that I was on a goldwing or something

You pretty much have the quietest mufflers you can get. Find yourself a headpipe with an intact catalytic converter and install that. Not only will you be saving the environment, but it will further reduce noise.

I had a V&H Pro Pipe on my 106" SG, but recently changed to a Supertrapp Supermeg because the V&H was too loud. I'm still experimenting with disc count and end cap type. The STrapp can be very quiet (closed end cap and few discs) or loudish (open end cap and 10 or 12 discs) I'm currently using a closed end cap and 26 discs, which gives a throaty sound. When cruising at sustained throttle there's not much sound but under load it wakes up. The open end cap is much louder, but never as loud as the V&H. It's a bit raspy.
