Zumo 660 GPS and Traffic alerts?
Do any of you Touring guys us the Zumo 660 and if so, do you have a traffic antenna installed? I have one but as far as I can tell, the regular power cable that goes to the M/C mount does not have a traffic antenna. I notice that in the manual the wire loom does have a mini-USB connector for a traffic receiver but I'm pretty sure I didn't get one in the kit. The traffic antennas I see online all have the cigarette lighter power source. Does this mean you ALSO have to install a cigarette lighter power source?

The optional traffic antenna/receiver does require 12v power. The suction cup cradle that comes with the RT Zumo 660 has an outlet on the side of it (it is not USB) and the owners manual says to plug the optional traffic receiver into the plug on the cradle. The plug is usually used for a 12 v power cord to power the Zumo, when using the suction cup mount in a car. When a traffic receiver is used, that then becomes the power cord for the Zumo (the power cord has an FM receiver built into it for traffic). However, the fairing dash mount that I have from HD, mounted on the inner fairing, does not have the outlet. I don't recall if one of the unused wires, now buried in my fairing, was the same plug that is on the suction cup cradle.

Thanks for the reply Weavr99FLHT. Seems pretty silly in my opinion that they have a Mini-USB connection for a traffic antenna, (also buried under my seat) but I can't find an antenna setup to plug into it!? Kinda like the idea of traffic alerts...last time I rode from NM to IL, I had to crawl for miles in about 110 degrees...not fun!
