What do you all do to prevent loosing this....spare key? Should I set up the code so I can unlock it that way should I loose my FOB?
Don't know why I am so worried...
also...only got 1 key with this...should I get another at the dealer?

I suggest setting up the code, getting the second key and possibly hiding a second key on your bike. It never hurts to be a little safe.

 

A FOB, who told you to use a FOB, I bet you don't even know what a FOB is! j/k

I ride a 2000, so it don't got none of these bells and whistles! As long as I keep my key in my pocket I'm good.

You shoulda got two keys an' two fobs when ya bought the bike. If ya didn't, go back and ask 'em whar it is!

 

If your worried about losing or forgetting your keys and fob you better set your code. I'll suggest you set it to "11111" so you wont forget it. Don't know what to suggest you do to remember how to clear the alarm using the code.[&:][&:][&:]

most dealers preset the code for you, using the last 5 numbers of your vin. so if you haven't yet, change that code! many people know this and it sure would suck to come out from the store or something and find your pride and joy gone.

my suggestion, read through the procedure completely first. then start at the beginning and go step by step. it really isn't difficult, but if you do one thing wrong, you gotta start over.

 

what they said. I used a code like my address or b-day and there was plastic cards that came with folder with all the paper work. These cards give a copy of the directions to overide fob. Put one in the pouch of rider backrest and one in lower compartment. If dont have cards easy enough to copy/make just dont wright code on the part that asks you to write code here

 

Since I never ride without my leather jacket, the FOB is in a zippered pocket and stays there. I did change/set the codes for manual input. Be sure you go through the procedures once and awhile for memories sake (can't have the FOB in the vacinity though). Got 2 FOBs and keys with the bike, spare at home on the key rack.
