Where do you get gas?

RE: Where do you get gas?
I've mostly used Sunoco and have been getting 33mpg. Last week I was riding on a highway when my gas light came on, I pulled off at the next exit and filled up at a Gulph station. Guess what? I got 40mpg on that tank! Guess I'll be looking for Gulph stations for a while to see if it keeps up.

I use Chevron or Shell now. I was using Arco as it was cheap...er. Super is $3.20 or so now. The Arco made my stock setup ping on hot days going up a grade. No ping with Chevron or Shell.
ALL gas comes from the ground gets refined and comes down the same pipeline(from what I understand) it is the additives that make the diff. The price between the cheap and good is only $.20 a fill up at the most.

RE: Where do you get gas?
I was using Mobil when I could because the SpeedPass makes things really easy. That was until today...
Headed into a clients today, and the feed me light comes on about 15 miles out. I swing into a mom and pop gas station reluctantly, figuring better safe than sorry. Well, the pump doesn't like my card, and I know there is a Mobil next to my destination, so I continue my ride. Hit the Mobil station, but 4.946 gallons of 91 octane unleaded at $3.609/gallon into the tank and ride across the street. Parked the bike for 4 hours. Came out, geared up, started the bike, let it warm up a little, put it in gear, disengage the clutch, and it stalls. Ok, so maybe I stalled it. Not a common occurrence, but it could happen. Start the bike back up, but it doesn't catch right away. That's not how these fuel injected twin cam engines work. Once it finally catches (3-4 seconds) I let it idle for a little bit. When I gave it gas in neutral, it craps out again at 3000rpm. Turned off the bike, removed the gas cap, yep, tank is still full. Went through the start/stall process 3 more times to confirm it wasn't a fluke. Then I nursed the bike back to the offending station and tried to return the gas. The woman working there wasn't much help, but she did get the owner on the phone. He was exceptionally unpleasant and insisted it had to be a problem with my bike. 30 minutes and a $10 bottle of octane booster later and I was back on the road.
I'll be sending a letter to Mobil, and invoice for the octane booster to the gas station owner, and am thinking that the 2007 stock engine runs way too lean to be practical.

RE: Where do you get gas?
I use Shell or Chevron premium if I have a choice, otherwise it's whatever is available.
PS: Any of you use octane booster? Is it worth it? Any noticeable gain? Around here 91 is the highest octane you can find. I keep hearing of 93 in other parts of the country and am curious if any big gain with that.
