Default 16" wheel on rear, 18" on front

I'm thinking about putting an 18" wheel on the front of my RKC and leaving the 16" on the rear. I know some of the spottier bikes do this but wondered if there was a negative aspect to doing this on a bagger. Opinions please.

Thanks,
Gary

I wouldn't think that there would be any adverse affect running a 18 & a 16. Any reason as to why? Just curious. The cost of the 16" and 18" are competitive. The 16" may have aslightly betterride over the 18" The 18" should handle better with the lower sidewall. Pros and cons.....

I currently run a 18" and a 18"

I'm waiting for my 21" front.

I am running a 18 up front and 16 in the rear. Works great.

I doubt you would tell much difference except it would look better. I went with a 21" front wheel and I love it. It makes the bike handle sportier and if there is a downside I haven't found it yet.

I'm running a 21/16 and it rides and handles great. Just got a matching 18 for the rear because I just wanted a wider wheel in the back than the 16x3 and I also found that my front was discontinued and I'd better get a rear while I could if I ever wanted one.

I would think that the larger diameter front tire means the tire has to be narrower in order not to rub on the fender. With that being said, I believe the ride would be stiffer in the front and the braking would be lessened by the narrower tire.
