Default compensator

Have a questions, I Changed my compensator because it was banging like crazy at start up and it really had some issues going on. Anyway I also changed out the clutch and pressure plate while I was in there. Works great but my question is it seems to make nose when running. Not a grind or rubbing but more like a whine noise. Is this normal?

I went with the SE compensator and the Barnett clutch.

Generally a whine in the primary is an overtight chain. When you re-installed the self adjuster, did you let it spring out on its own, or did you help it along? The chain normally has a little sag along the top but from your photo it appears taut.

thanks, I tie wrapped it at the old location and re-installed it. stupid me I was so worried about everything else I never thought to check the chain tension.

I should have said it had about 1/2 inch of movement, but I did forget to measure it. Looks Like I have to go back in the case

If you are taking off the cover, then try to reset the adjuster to its lowest (loosest) setting, then let it spring out on its own. The top part of the chain won't be all floppy but there should be some movement up and down.

Thanks I do remember seeing if the chain on the top had some play which it did about the 1/2 inch but I no way set it to factory specs. I was just going to see how to set it within the manual.

Thanks for the comments.

Thanks again I went to the Dealer and picked up a new one they have a B version and mine had some wear on it. Let's hope I don't to go back into the primary again

No more whine, however, Ineed to get it our on the road for things to heat up.
