Electra Glide Ultra Classic Low

I know that Premium Low Suspension makes it a "Low"...

But what is the history behind "Electra Glide", "Ultra" and what makes it a "Classic" ?

I am not 100% sure, but the electra glide name comes from the first year model 1965 which was the first Harley with electric start.

How far back you want to go?

There was the Hydra Glide... first with hydraulic forks
The Duo Glide.. first with rear suspension
Electra Glide.. first with electric start
Electra Glide Classic came with tourpak
Electra Glide Ultra Classic had tourpak, extra chrome, rear speakers...
Electra Glide Standard had no tourpak, no stereo

Then came the CVO...
And finally the Limited, which took some chrome back, and had some of the "stuff" early
Then they dropped the "Classic" model and took the CB off of the Ultra Classic, but it still has 4 speakers.

Thanks guys. My memory does go as far back as the Duo Glide because the guy across the street from us had one. Dad thought he was nuts, Mom thought he was cute.

That's usually the way it works!
