Default Police RK to Civilian RK to Road Glide

Last year I sold my EGC to get a RG. When my EG sold I couldn't find a RG I wanted so I ended up with a Police RK for a pretty good deal. I figured a RK would be fine if I gave it a little style. Well, I put exactly 195 miles on the RK before I decided it needed to be a RG. Here is the progress...

When I bought this bike I wanted a RG so after 195 miles I decided to convert it to one.

I'm not planning to do the RG harness & gauges & wasn't super excited about giving Dirty Bird $330 for their RK-RG Nacelle piece so I made my own. I figured my factory one was worth about $50 or so so why not give it a try. I edged it with black door edge trim. Not sure if it'll stay black or end up green yet.

I like the bike. Is this where you are going to leave it, or is there more work to do? Looks great to me as is now.

The plan is to finish up the RG conversion and ride it that way for a while

Awesome work Wreck, I dig the paint choice, pinstripe, wheels. I like your idea of leaving the RK tank speedo, and nacelle. The RG speedo/tack pod always looked like an afterthought add-on to me.

Thanks. The paint is Dodge Viper Snakeskin Green. A local guy did the stripe work.

Did you have to cut down the front side of the nacelle in order for the back of the RG fairing to fit? From you photos I can't quite tell...

Yep, take a peek at the white like on the nacelle laying on the bench. That's the cut line. I'll try to shoot a better pic of it.
