Default Front caliper has a leak?

installed new front 6 piston calipe. After 400 miles I noticed brand fluid all over the left side of my bike. Everything appeared to be tight? Any suggestions?

First thing is wash it all off the paint before it takes the paint off, hopefully its not too late. Where is it coming from? The seam between the body, the fittings, or the bleeder screws?

Take the caliper off the fork tube, keep the line connected. Clean all the fluid off the caliper. Put something the width of a rotor between the pads and squeeze the lever to see where it is leaking. After that - tighten or send back as defective it it is a casting issue. Let us know what you find - hose - bleeder - piston etc. XXXX Get all the brake fluid off the paint a quickly as possible, if it's not already too late.

Do they take copper crush gaskets where the line goes into the caliper? If so I've had them leak there before. Really crank them down tight or install new ones. Hopefully it isn't the seals in the pistons. I also had fluid down my bike once, but it was from the fork seal... Make sure it's your caliper before you go chasing down the wrong path. Good luck

He's referring to the possibility of silicone type fluid which wouldn't hurt the paint

actually, i was thinking if it was pink, its a fork seal leak, which gets alllllll over the caliper and along the side of the bike... happened to me. only reason I knew it was Fork Oil, it was pink. I just asked on the off chance maybe he wouldnt know that.... just a thought.

seems its not the caliper. looks like its a left fork seal. Does anyone know where to get them for Arlen Ness hot legs, his web-site does not sell them?

Thanks for all the input...
