Default clutch issue??

I don't really the answer since this is my first Harley, maybe normal. I adjusted my clutch at 10,000 miles. Turned the screw out just past 1/2 turn at clutch pack. Cable adjusted with about a 1/8th of play. It has felt like its not catching right lately. So I adjusted it yesterday with engine cold. Found I had to turn the adjuster screw 1.5 turns in to were it just stops. I didn't crank on it. How has it wore so much in 5,000 miles. I followed the service manual adjusting it. Is this normal?

On the first adjustment you mentioned, was it done cold? Did you put slack in clutch cable first, before adjust screw? If not done cold, in proper order, you could easily get results like you stated. No, that is not normal.

It's normal to not get the adjustment right the first time... happens a lot.

The bike had sit over night on both adjustments.
I took slack all the way out of cable, broke jamnut loose on set screw, turn set screw in until it just stops, back off just a past half turn, tighten jamnut to 120inlbs. adjust cable to 1/8in. play at lever. Is there anything I missed?
