Default Road King Classic.....Kuryakyn Passing Lamp Wiring Harness?

I got the kuryakyn 5495 passing lamp wiring harness to run the passing lamps when ever. I get it all plugged in and no power. I study the directions for about 30 min and looking at the plugs there's only one set of cooresponding plugs in the headlight bucket that can be plugged into which is suppose to supply current. At first I thought they were plugged into the harness for the fender light, which my 08 classic doesn't have and the more I look at it looks like the wiring harness to the passing lamps which doesn't make any sense cause they don't get hot until the switch is one. Am I missing something?

Or is this the being wired backwards I read about? I'm a visual learner, so its hard for me wrap my mind around when people say do this and do that, sorry.

Sorry to hear you bought the harness, it really is not necessary. Many posts on this in the DIY sticky. From the factory, the passing lamps get their power from the headlight low beam - that's why they go off when you go to high beams. The common fix is to snip the passing lamp power lead from the low beam lead, and connect the passing lamp lead to the acc. power fused lead. (Just connect the yellow wire to the orange/red wire behind the headlight)
I utilized my unused fender tip plug to power my GPS on my RKC.
That passing lamp harness is SO unnecessary...

I appreciate it and that looks like what I'll have to do. I bought the harness so I would haven't to splice any wires. I also want to apologize for starting another useless thread on passing lamps. I sat out in the garage last nite for 2 hours trying to figure out if I had something wired backwards or what.

That's ok- you need help so...

But when you have about 3 weeks to spare look at the DIY mods sticky.

about 1600 posts on this ( incl mine- which for a FLHT takes 2 minutes and 50¢)....and maybe 3000 posts on adding a GDO ( garage door opener...so many we have an acronym).

Ok, the best I can tell is the Kuryakyn 5495 total control won't work on an 08 RKC. The new harness gets its power source from the front fender lamp and my 08 RKC doesn't have one and the plugs for the harness are the same for the passing lamps which is what I had plugged it into.
