Default J.W Speaker 8700 EVO 2 installation

I was considering new JW Speaker 8700 EVO 2 headlight. Does anyone know if it requires a mounting ring or does if fit right in?

I think it's the same as the 8700 and will stick out that ugly inch. So yes you'll need a ring.

Worked on stock mounting ring and sat the same as stock on my 14 SGS. No need for new trim ring. I bought the extra mounting ring and didn't need it.

You'll need a ring for a pre-rushmore bike. Thats the way I understood it anyway. I needed one for my '13 model Street Glide

I have never seen a side by side comparison between the two lights.

You'll need a new mounting ring. HD part # 68124-04B or you can buy it from JW Speaker as well. JW has it listed on there web page.

The JW Speaker ring lists at around $80. I got the HD one at my dealer for $43. I've seen the Speaker ring online for $50. The new headlight with mounting ring does not stick out any further than the OEM one did.

For reference, cheapest I've seen the Evo 2 for is $272 (chrome).

I didn't need a new mounting ring. Bought one and never used it. Still sitting in my "parts box". I used the stock ring.

I (re)use my stock ring with zero issues.
