Default transmission leak

So I was putting the pipes on my bike ( 2010 ultra limited) and noticed the underside of the trans was wet along with the seal where the shifter goes in. Still under esp so no big deal called and set up an appointment for friday. They said if I drop it off Thursday before close they should have it back to me friday evening. Bike has about 8000 miles on it. (Just bought it in February, don't blame me for the low miles). My question is, is there anything I should have them dig a little deeper to look at? Or do while they are there? Thanks, Dan

Wet on the left side or right side? If right side, probably the tranny side cover bottom bolts came loose as they often did on 09 and later bikes.

Looks like it's weeping down the front, neither side is worse than the other.

It's usually the main shaft seal which is just behind the shifter. It can sometimes be hard to tell because the wind throws the tranny fluid everywhere. Just keep an eye on it after they do the repair. Clean everything real well and keep an eye on it.

I may be splitting hairs here but to put a finer point on it; the main shaft seal is behind the drive pulley, left to right. I know what you mean about "behind" the shifter, it's the shaft behind the shifter shaft, front to back. For the uninitiated it could be confusing.

Just a suggestion ...... if they end up dropping the primary cover it's a perfect time to insure you are 100% synthetic if that is what you want to be running.
