So, Im about to install a gutted stock header and a set of American Freedom racing slip ons on my 2012 SG...

Will I need a tuner? I mean NEED.. Im not worried about HP right now.. I just am running out of resources ($$$)... and would like to buy one later..

You will be fine if you still have the stock air box. If you go to a high flow air box you will need a tuner (or retune) or else you will run too lean.

 

You'll be fine. Have you thought about a set of Xieds? They're not pricey like a tuner. I use them and they work fine.

 

Stock air box.. no, not sure what xieds are but I will google..

Rinehart's with a gutted head pipe and FL-VIED's with stock A/F on my 2012 SG and it runs fine. Like you, I didn't need more HP, just wanted it to run less lean and less heat You can pick the Vied up for $75 and install yourself.

 

You will be fine if you have the stock Air Cleaner and you are just changing the Exhaust. You can always buy later as you wish. However, most people do try and get some kind of Fuel Management, as Harley's come from the factory lean.
