I am usingH-Dpegs attached to highway bar mounts from www.rivcoproducts.com. I have the mount that has 56 possible adjustments and can be mounted to the inside or outside of the highway bars. A lttle pricey but are very well made.

I'm using these "cruise boards" from Kuryakyn. Yeah, I know, they're not real sleek looking, but man are they comfortable. Even have heel blocks on them so your feet can't slide off.

My Highway Pegs themselves are from the HD STEALTH collection:

Stealth Foot Pegs

Mounts for the Lower Fairing Area are purchased from Harley but I can't find the part number for it (they have virtually no clamps online to show).
They look EXACTLY and I mean EXACTLY like the ones shown below by Kuryakyn:

Kuryakyn Cruise Mounts 4520

I use the shortarm ones (4520) which they say is better for taller people... shorter people use the long ones I guess.

Harley also sells the same one as the 4520 but instead of the arm 'angled' it is straight. I like the angle one personally so I got that one. I'm sure someone here has a part # for the 4520 sold at the HD Parts counter but don't have my box anymore.

I've got a wacky question...its related to the initial post question - so hopefully someone familiar can offer up some info. A buddy of mine told me he saw someone with highway pegs mounted low - to the frame - or even a floor board(???). Anyone seen anything like this? I took off my crash bars and don't want'em back on...but would still like to find a solution somehow to rest my leg(s)...anyone seen anything like this?

Kuryakin makes something called a "Cruise Arm" that attaches to the footboards somehow. That's probably what he's talking about.
