American Elites and mounting was quoted $605 for the tires and 2 1/2 hours at &95 an hour so basically $850 from my local Harley dealer. Both departments were quick to show me the $50 rebate from Dunlop. I won't be doing that, what's the best route for new tires?

Myrtle Beach HD does $230 & $270 for front and rear including install. I haven't found anything better from a dealer, well at least not close to me.

I use my local Yamaha dealer, to supply and fit my Harley tyres. I take the wheels in, get a coffee, chew the fat. Good prices, great service and closest bike dealer of any sort. They can get the tyres of my choice in overnight most times. Are they cheapest? No, but they are cheap and it saves me time and effort. So get imaginative - someone near your home would like your business.

I split the cost of a tire machine with a buddy. Cost me $750. Another buddy bought me a lift to pay for mounting his tires. I find the cheapest tires on the internet. I don't think I have ever paid more than $150 for a tire. I do my own and save a bundle...

That's a good idea! If you have multiple bikes plus friends with bikes, you'd come out ahead pretty quickly. And probably a lot of beer brought to you by your friends. I think wheel balancer stands are really cheap too, just takes a little time to do.

I paid 650 including mount-balance whitewalls from a local shop. If you can find a shop to install them go to tirerack.com Shouldn't take much more than an hour to install.

Default Michelin Commander II

I paid $313 for two Michelin Commander IIs for my 2010 Ultra from Motorcycle Super Store. Local indy did the mounting and balancing for $50 per wheel. Took them off and put them back on myself in less then two hours. So I have new tires and a brand new Craftsman Torque wrench for less than $450. The knowledge gained from doing the take off and install myself is invaluable. The stealers will pick your pocket every time.

If I can do the work in my garage in less than 2 hours with just a floor jack that means that the dealer can do the take off, mounting and balancing, and reinstall in about 45 minutes yet they want to charge you 2.5 hours at $95 per hour. Someone call the sheriff!

Thanks for the replies.
Yes pretty ridiculous, she said I would save 1/2 and hour if I brought wheels in. This afternoon I'm going to go and speed to a couple indys and possible a few dirt bike dealers.
Revzilla has American elite 2gen, for $377.89 to my door, if I get them and do the rebate by May 15th for $50. The $50 can cut some mounting. Yelpnow I need to find a reputable shop to mount and balance

I just bought two Dunlop American Elite from JPCycle for $338, minus the $50 dollar rebate. I called around to a few dealerships by me and it sounds like it's roughly $300 to have them installed, which includes the tubes and strips. So roughly $600 total.
