I bought a front tire from Amazon for my Road King.. IT was the right size, but when I went to put it on, it was a rear.. I saw a set of NEW tires from an Internet site last week and the "born on" date was from a year ago.. although you might get them cheaper, you get what you pay for..Most places, if you buy the tires off of them, will cut you a deal on the mounting..

Revzilla has American elite 2gen, for $377.89 to my door, if I get them and do the rebate by May 15th for $50. The $50 can cut some mounting. Yelpnow I need to find a reputable shop to mount and balance
Just an fyi...you need to purchase the tires by 4/30 and submit the form by 5/15.

Last year I put E-3s on my '00 Ultra for $380 installed at a local indy. It pays to shop around...

$850 bucks!!
What a friggin joke. I just got 4 new tires put on my truck for $925 at Les Schwab.

Do the work yourself and buy your tires from the motorcycle super store. Have a local indy do the mount and balance. It's about half the cost.

I bought a set of American Elites for $359.00. I have a local shop install them for $20.00 each if I bring the wheels in. It's not a big deal to remove and replace the wheels with a J&S jack. Spend a little on a quality jack and a service manual and save yourself some $$$$$

A buddy and I did just this! We bought a No-Mar changer and it's bolted to the floor in my garage - it's not the base model, but it's not the priciest model either.

Each of us has two Harley's, so the cost of the changer was recouped quickly when you begin to consider dealership labor charges for tire changes.

Additionally, we've helped out a good amount of our friends as needed with their tire changes too. It makes the hobby that much more enjoyable when you can do your own work and when you can help others out too.

I've also got the balancer stand, which works well. 95% of the time though, we'll use Dyna Beads or CounterAct Beads. Beats the look of lead wheel weights.

I try not to let the dealership have my money if possible.

The past four or five tires I've purchased from Jake Wilson and took the wheel off myself and took it to the local Honda dealer and he mounted and balanced each tire for around $25-$35. Most dealers won't mount anything if you didn't buy from them which is also ignorant, but some are cool.

Brighton Harley ( Brighton, MI I-96 and US 23 ) will do front or rear parts and labor for $199.00 a piece ( including white walls and white stripes for the baggers )

I would happily pay that, but not $700-$800.
