Default RKC cruise control not working

The cruise hasn't worked on my 2006 for quite some time and I've finally decided to check it out. The only thing that I can find wrong is a very small 'tab' within the front brake lever that looks like it has broken.

Anyone know (1) what it is, (2) could this cause the cruise to fail to engage and (3) how to replace it?

Thanks.

I would check and see if your brake light is on all the time.

Brake light is NOT on unless hand/foot levers are depressed.

I was also thinking there was a switch on the clutch side that would disengage the cruise. There may also be a fuse. Not real familiar with the 06 though. Sorry, just making suggestions.

Fuse !. Had the same problem with my '06 RKC. Young Mechanic messed up thinking it was the switch. Took it off and soldiered twice to no avail. The other mechanic came over and asked this guy, "Have you checked the fuse yet ?." He went oops and checked. Found it was the fuse !. Always start something small before going BIG.

Try unplugging your roll off switch.

Yep, that's where I'd put my money. On the right side of the goose neck, just need to unplug one lead. The CC won't disengage when you roll off the throttle, but I found that to be a PIA anyways. Cheapest repair you'll ever make!

I installed chrome switch covers and had the same problem. After, I found that I pinched the rear brake wire and therefore the cruise would not work.

All will be checked. Anyone have a picture of the roll off switch? And I moved recently and have my manual somewhere, I just don't know where. So- which fuse?
