Considering 2015 RK, questions
I am considering the Ultra Limited, Road Glide Special and of course the King.
My consideration of the Limited and Special are mainly my wife as I want her to be comfortable, but honestly she doesn't ride that often and we don't take a lot of long trips. She also has this invisionment of taking our small 8Lb dog with us...so not sure.
However, I love the RK and all the Chrome out front. First mod of any of the bikes is the chrome lowers. Plus, it's almost a blank canvas to personalization.
I am wanting to trade in our '07 Deluxe, which I am sad to say I have put way to much money into it to fit my 6' frame. Wife fell in love with it when we bought it in Japan through military sales. Very cool bike and looks neat in the nostalgia theme chrome scheme. I even put Chubbies low ape bars to internally wire the controls and moved the floor boards forward. But without a lot of great options for solo seats with back rests that maintain the classic look, I had to convince her to let me trade it in. My wife has developed an attachment to the bike, but learn to ride herself.
Anyhow, I like the RG and the Ultra for the electronics and great wind blockage, but the classic lines of the RK keep pulling me into it. Plus its a lot less expensive to get into the touring line.
Thoughts? oh yes, what do RK owners think of the Heritage bars? My test rides on ones before left me less than impressed with the previous versions of the stock bars.
Thanks

I did a test ride on a '14 King and found the bars were a big improvement over the ones on my '13 RKC.
Installing new bars was a necessity for me after I got a seat that moved me back two inches for more legroom.
RK is plenty of bike for two-up riding. And if you need more storage you can always add a tourpak using detachable hardware.

I remember talking to dealers when visiting to have my deluxe serviced. They had mentioned that some RK riders complained of the stock bars, but that many copied the actions of police dept riders who switched to the Heritage style bars. They switched for comfort and better controllability.

The Harleys I have owned are in this order: Road King Classic, Street Glide, Ultra, Softail Custom and now another Road Kind Classic. My only advice is follow your heart. If your heart changes down the road, it is no big deal to move to the next one. They all offer an experience that moves the soul.
