Considering 2015 RK, questions

UltraClassic53,
To answer your question, my wife loves to ride on the back on any trip I am going on. I guess what I meant, that even though she has taken the rider course, was licensed for a MC in the past, she hasn't taken up the interest in riding her own bike. So, for the time being, she enjoys being a passenger. We don't make many trips as I am out of the country 4-6 months each year with my job.
We plan to make some longer overnight trips, but just haven't had the chance yet. I would love to do a trip to Sturgis once, but I would really love to go MOCO museum as well.
Trust me, I am about keeping her happy and comfortable, which is why I want her to have nice passenger pillion and one of those adjustable backrests. When we have ridden together, she has always been happy on any bike. I did put a 'tall boy' seat on the deluxe once. I say once because that ate into her seating area and she was not happy.

Love all the posts, advice, and the awesome looking bikes! Keep it coming.
Here's another twist, when I put the windshield on the deluxe the wind was blocked to my face, but it would hit my shins, run up over the knees and tank and setup an oscillation under my chin that made me want to puke. I am sure that's not the same on the RK and its different since the windshield is a bit further away from the rider?
I also like the idea of all the detachable options for the RK making it the Swiss army of the HD lineup.

This solves 90% of the buffeting from the wind coming up from under the tank area. Not everyone likes the looks, but they do work! And, they look way better than the old style. I've grown to like them. Not sure if I like them because of the looks, or the function now.
For some reason, they don't show these as fitting the 2014 or 2015 Road Kings in their Fitment section. But as you can see, they do fit with no problems at all.

Well Well Well, to my surprise...
All,
Went to the HD house the other day on our deluxe with my wife... to test ride some bikes. I wanted to ride the RK, Ultra Limited, and the RGS. The RGS had a recall on the hydraulic clutch so that was a no-go.
However, we did ride the RK and the Ultra. Not at all what I expected. I was in love with RK and I totally expected an awesome ride and that my wife would enjoy it. I was totally surprised when I didn't and that was too bad because it would have went home that day. One of the responses above did recommend changing the bars out. I remember the rage a few years back was to remove the RK bars and go with a 'Heritage' style bar to improve comfort and slow speed handling. These were not the Heritage like bars, at least for me. They were higher but I had a 'pinched' in feeling between my shoulder blades. Now to be honest, I do have a set of internally wired low-rise Chubbies on my deluxe. But, the ride was not comfortable on the RK bars. I also got lots of head buffeting on the stock RK windshield, (no it was not a chopped version). My wife experienced lots of head buffeting and we were only clipping along the highway at 65mph. The engine power was awesome as well as the braking. Easy to maneuver around the parking lot. As gorgeous as that bike is, it was not the bike for us.
The Ultra was next. No &h!t, it was comfortable for my wife. I knew that before the motor was started. I have to admit I really quickly got hooked on the electronic gizmos. I had to turn all that off to focus on the ride. My wife still experiencing some buffeting as did I, but not to the extent of the RK. We got this machine up to 85 mph before I knew it and we were still BSing at that speed how awesomely the bike was handling. I was surprised at how responsive the bike was by just throwing my hips side to side or hitting some curves and rolling on the throttle. The linked brakes work as advertised and maybe a bit too much for my tastes. Could be that it takes some time to get used to. I must also admit to my own surprise that I liked the handlebar positioning of the Ultra compared to the RK. I had always thought I wanted to be outstretched, not so much. So I am wondering if I were to put a 1" higher windshield would that completely solve the buffeting? Who knows. We still need to ride the RGS and compare the ride. Albeit, they did have a CVO RGS on the floor, but at 41K, I don't think they'd let the likes of us take it for a spin.
Sorry RK riders, not in our future, but I liked all the pics I saw and understand, appreciate, and respect your choices for the King.

The bars work good for me. No issues so far.
Agree that all that chrome on the front end is the best.
