Bike definitely pulls harder now especially in the higher gears.

Now for the actual numbers that I promised. These measurements were taken at idle 1' above the ground and 3' directly behind the rear tire. With the stock baffles I read 69.5db (sound level) and 90hz (frequency). With the 1.75" Power cores I got 69.3db so technically they are quieter but not noticeable to the ear. The tone was 85hz which is a slightly lower (bass) tone. When I pulled my old baffles out the packing in the right muffler fell apart. There was also some bluing in one spot on the left pipe indicating the packing wasn't keeping the heat away from the can. So the packing in that pipe wasn't doing much. The mufflers did have 20,000 miles on them. Because of that I believe my right side muffler was louder than it should have been. I bought new packing for my mufflers. SO if you reuse the same packing material in yours your results may vary. I also have the stock headpipe with the cat. The cat quiets the exhaust down some also.
I'm surprised it registered quieter...

I rode about 80 miles tonight. I think by the time I got home the mufflers had gotten a little louder. I didn't have time to measure the levels again. I'm thinking my new packing is burning in some like new pipes do. I will try to get the bike out and take readings again tomorrow afternoon if it isn't raining to see if they did get a little louder after riding some.

The stock CVO mufflers on my SGS sound nice to me and make better power than stock. I removed the cat (Fuel Moto 2-1-2), added a K&N filter and PV tuner. I tried the Fuel Moto billet filter system but it seemed louder under load than the stock so I opted to go back to stock with a K&N filter.
My report is, my bike has good low end torque, louder but better sound note than stock and looks good.
Maybe I can squeeze a bit more power out of my stage one with different cores or mufflers but it does not seem worth it to me.

FYI.

The FULLSAC CVO BAFFLES will get LOUDER in time.

Not too the point that 2 years will be louder then 1 year by no means. Too be fair and get a proper reading, may I suggest get a 1k miles or so and then do a reading.
I "think" the reading may vary too, pending how much wrap you installed as well.

@Greg- to max the benefit of the FULLSAC CVO baffles, and help out with heat and your motor running too lean. I do recommend the FULLSAC X-pipe.
Steve at FULLSAC has a budget X-pipe to their newest "D" X-pipe that now comes in S/S.

Also a Turner of choice, again if I may recommend a TTS Mastertune Tuner too!

Your performance will for sure improve and your miles of smiles will be endless.

I'm glad you got the pipes set up and running.

Thanks for the input. I don't have any heat issues on my 14 Limited plus I know going with a catless headpipe will result in louder exhaust. I have a Fuel Moto air cleaner and a Vance and Hines FP3 tuner on the bike.

The tuner made a big difference. When I flashed the Map V&H recommended (Twin slash rounds)I didn't think it ran any better then the stock tune. So I ran the Auto tune on it. I noticed the auto tune lowered most of the VE cells by 10-15 but the bike ran much better. I asked V&H about it and they said even though the stock CVO mufflers flow better than the stock Limited mufflers they are still very restrictive compared to aftermarket. That's when I decided to go to the CVO Power Cores. I re-flashed the Twin Slash round map and the bike definitely runs better and pulls harder now. It's especially noticeable in the higher gears. When I asked Fullsac about possibly losing low end torque with there baffles they said with just the 1.75" cores I would gain about 4 ft pds. But if I also removed half the packing and used the muffler screens I would gain another 7 for an 11 ft pd increase in torque. Like I already said the increase is definitely noticable especially in 4th -6th gears. I fill the Power cores and muffler screens are well worth the cost and much cheaper than aftermarket mufflers. I bought a time Out camper I'm going to be pulling and extra torque without being much louder is what I was looking for. That's exactly what I got.

Killer!

Sorry Greg my bust. I missed that you had all the goodies already.

Again, glad it's all working great for you!

I have now had the bike out several times and put a little over 300 miles on it since installing the 1.75" CVO Power Cores, Muffler screens, and new packing. I didn't think the pipes had gotten any louder so I took sound level readings again today. They verified what I was thinking. I measured the sound at idle 1' above the ground and 3' behind the rear tire just like I did previously. Today the reading was 69.1db. So technically it is slightly quieter. I have auto tuned it with my FP3 since the initial readings but I wouldn't think that would make a difference.

I hope this help others thinking about the Power Cores. Just keep in mind my CVO mufflers have 20,000 miles on them (8,000 on my 12 Limited and 12,000 on the 14 Limited) and the packing in the right muffler was shot and crumbled into pieces when I pulled the stock baffle out. If your packing is still good your stock CVO mufflers are probably quieter than mine were.
