Default removing saddlebag rail guards

Looks pretty straight forward. Anybody done it. Im kinda tired of the old school chrome look and its tougher to clean underneath them.

One of the first things I did with mine...removed the bag rails & front bumper. Much cleaner look in my opinion.

Well....kind of a "McGiver" for the time being. Went to my local hardware store and bought some stainless plugs...can't remember the correct hole size right now. Problem is the bars are round/radius but the plugs are flat. I put the plug in the hole and used a hose/gear clamp...opened it up and put around the bar & plug, tightened it up enough to get the correct bend in it. Problem now was the little tabs on the back didn't really hold them in place snug. Put a dab of silicone on each, put it back in the hole and put the clamp on it again and let it set/dry. Figured I would try this to see how long they lasted before they fell out...ha! Well, that was 5000 miles ago and all plugs are still there. Not as shiny as the chrome bars, (you can see them in the pic if you look closely) but better than holes. I do plan on buying the bars without holes in the future but this was a quick fix for the time being.

Had them on my Road King for a while and decided to go with the slash cut for passenger. Check the touring parts classifieds. You might find someone willing to trade.
