Default Clutch Push Rod Help Required

So I took my clutch off today to install my new compensator. I took out the adjustment screw, and the long push rod slid out with it. Just the suction of the oil pulled it out very easily. Fast forward an hour, now putting the bike all together. Went to slide the push rod back in, and it only goes half way and is up against something springy. Not sure WTF is going on now. Checked my manual, but cannot find or see anything listed that it could be. I thought this rod just pushed through the main shaft across to the other side of the engine? What the heck could be halfway in there blocking it?

Well after pulling my exhaust system to get the cover off the right side of the bike, I pushed the rod completely through from the other side. Well it turns out my 2 year old son who was "helping" had stuffed a zip tie into the shaft hole!

At least it wasn't something major.

BTW, there was nothing wrong with the compensator. Last time you changed the oil your son put some marbles in there.

Thats awesome!

BTW, no need to remove the clutch to remove compensator.

I had to pull the inner cover to change the alternator part, as I am upgrading to the Screaming Eagle version and didn't want to grind my case.

Don't blame it on your son, you know you were probably bored and put the zip tie in there yourself.

I think this story is funny as heck. The same thing happened to me about 20 years ago.

Just rebult a car motor and it's on an engine stand. I rotated the motor to do something and a bunch of little rocks fell out of the exhaust ports onto the floor.

My 2 year old son was "helping".... That's his story anyway.
