I just want to share how happy I am with my bike.
Had the second 8000 KM service with oil topped up and since then I am up to 14000 Km without once having to top up the oil (that's 6000 Ks) - it is still at the top just like it was after the second service.
This engine is great - it is super oil tight, burning next to no oil and pulls like a freight train!
Hope it stays that way for a few more thousand K's.

This is great news. What type of oil do you use?

 

I just use the standard Harley Genuine mineral oil 20-50 (not the synthetic).
My Harley tech said synthetic was overkill in my area with such mild temps and he seems to be right - this oil seems to be working just fine.
After all these Ks it is still the light colour that comes out of the bottle - it hasn't darkened due to contamination.

 

Same here... I change all oils at 10,000km and does'nt use a drop.
I use Prolab 20W50 LEGEND for engine and Prolab 75W140 in trany and primary, all 100% synthetic.

 

My handlebars didnt fall off. We're having a celebration downtow, all are welcome.

 

I didn't know there was an 'oil consumption' problem with the '14s. I thought their problem was coolant loss!

 

I have no problem with coolant level either...
