Default Vance and Hines Power Dual or......?

Do the power duals really improve the power?
Are there better choices out there?
What about the Rinehart Slimline?

a.) yes...over a header with a cat in it ( in combination with a high flow air cleaner and tuning compensation)

alternative choice a stock header with the catalytic converter removed ( ebay $150)

I currently run the V&H Power Duals and have nothing against them. If I had to do it again I would go with the Fuel Moto Jackpot 2-into-1-into-2 Stainless Steel XXX High Output Head Pipe, for no other reason except I would have more options for tuners. The Jackpot 2-into-1-into-2 Stainless Steel XXX High Output Head Pipe has both 12mm and 18mm 02 bungs installed so you can run any tuner, ECM (ThunderMax) or Tuner add-on like the PV2 Auto Tune Pro system.

The PD combined with the high flow air cleaner and tune was a nice increase in performance. It's a quality head pipe with hours and hours of engineering behind it and when you step back and look at the bike you can easily see where you spent $600. There is something just not right about spending $500 and then hiding it behind you factor heat shields. I want to see where I just spent my money.

I recently looked at a number of options for exhaust. I have always been a V & H fan and started upgrading with dual slash cut ovals. I looked at the PD's, and the True Duals, plus others like American Performance etc. Then a buddy turned me on to Fuel Moto, then I joined HD Forums and saw that FM is highly regarded here too. So I opted for the mild steel, ceramic coated 2/1/2 header from them. I am VERY pleased with the choice. I will not knock V&H or Reinhart or anyone else. I will say that Fuel Moto is a sponsor of this forum, has excellent customer service and can put a complete Stage 1 package together for you for a pretty good deal. They stock V&H too, but the Jackpots are all USA made and combined with their Micro Tuner and a good air filter, my bike is so much more responsive.

The XXX is for 117+ inch builds. You would want to do the standard 2-1-2 if you were just replacing the headpipes in your current configuration.

Understood. Fuel Moto has also installed the XXX on 107 builds with Level B heads.

Don't plan to change it on the current set-up, but if I go bigger then I will.
