Default Installing Apes and New Lines on 2014 Street Glide Special

Hey Everyone,

quick question for anyone who has installed new lines on a SGS. I see that the brake line junction box that's mounted on the triple tree that I had on my 2011 SG doesn't exist in the same place anymore. Is it up inside the fairing somewhere? I got the new lines the other day and there is no junction box in the package. sorry if this is a stupid question, hoping someone has some info and maybe some pictures of the install.

thanks

Mike

SGS has ABS so the control module is up under the seat.

I don't have any pics but it's pretty much self explanatory how the lines run. You'll see them once you get starting pulling things down.

The brake line coming off your master cylinder runs all the way to a "puzzle block" fitting on the abs module under your seat, then both front brake caliper lines run from that module to the calipers. There is no more splitter anywhere on the front of the bike with abs. To replace that front brake line for apes now requires a 4-5 ft long line back to the module.

I'll snap a pic when I get home of the fitting if you want. I just changed out my line a few weeks ago when I did 16" apes.

Here's the fitting. The one with the rag through it is the master cylinder end, the other block piece is the piece that connects to the abs module. The line I replaced this with was actually 3 piece. I had the banjo fitting with a male jic at the master cylinder and this puzzle block piece with a short tube and a male jic on the abs module, then the brake line was just a length with female straight jic swivel fittings on each end.
