I would say anything 09'+ due to the newer frame. Test ride a few to decide for yourself though.

I'm going to say 15 SGS only because I recently bought one.

'13 cause I own one! Seriously, I like the old dash better and it's an enormous upgrade (well over $2K in Canada) to get the larger screen plus GPS on the '14 up. To get it stock you would have to buy the SGS. I like the Garmin Zumo 660 I have just fine. Lifetime maps and really easy to set up trips on Garmin Basecamp. Way more way-points. The things I like about the '14 up is the one touch saddlebags, beefier front end and the wheels. Easy to bring the Zumo into the hotel and plan your next day with your feet up.

I agree 2015!!! I went from my 07 RK to a 15 SGS. When I finally decided to make the change to a SG I started looking at all options. I knew I wanted 09 or newer for the frame change, wider back tire, 6 gallon tank, etc. Then figured why trade from an 07 to an 09 with the same 96", If I was going to spend the money I wanted the 103 which didn't come until 11 with the power pack option. So I set out to find an 11 Sedona orange SG. All that I found were in the $18-$20k range. Same as a 12-13 model, I assume due to the one year color option. So I decided If I was going to spend that I would get a 13. Well after looking at the big picture and pricing a lot of bikes including used 14s, every time I decided on a bike it was like well for only another grand or two I can get one better. All said and done, I own a 2015 Street Glide Special, got to pick basically everything I wanted and got brand new set up like WE wanted it!!!!

Good luck on whatever you decide.

Try to find a slightly used '14 SGS, better color options than the '15's. The Rushmore bikes are hands down the best design and will depreciate less than previous years.

I did the same , under 2500mi , a few extras , the new style bags are so much more user friendly , better cams , and if you can go with a 14 or 15 your in the latest model.

Financially a Rushmore isn't much more than a 12 or 13 used.
