Somebody had posted pic with rack removed and nice pics of bolts they plugged holes with but I can not find it again. I you have pics and part used please share with me.

Only real reason I like the rack is because I use it as a handle to open and close the lid.

 

I agree. But when I was looking at the Ultra's I did like the slick look w/o the rack on the non-Limited models. I think I can get used to opening w/o. I just never really thought about removing it until this post

 

Here's my 14 limited with the rack removed. I wanted a more sleek look as well. My plan is to eventually fill the holes and have it repainted but this works for now.

 

I removed from wife's Limited Low but didn't like those cheap plastic caps and replaced with 2 spears even though catalog says it's for 13 or older tour packs, but after rolling with hands on round wheel couple times and they fit perfectly.

 

To me why then buy alimited? For the twin cool? I ride a friends limited and we use it all the time for extra bags. His is a 15, and has the tour pac, so he can take it off when he doesn't need it.

 

Hope to pick up a 15 myself (new). Next week, at a give away price at one of the dealerships. That has taken a couple of Alberta dealers can't sells. The saving will allow me the brackets,etc to be able to remove it. Won't need all the extra space, at work. Missed out on a 15 CVO. O well that's extra for the wife's, next year.
