Exactly, if I had to wear a full face helmet I probably wouldn't ride. Kinda ruins the whole experience.

I'm a sucker for these threads....I want a slim fitting helmet an most rides I don't wear any helmet. Now I'm thinking about a novelty, it'd be slim, light an help with stuff like rocks an bugs (had a rock kicked up my a truck hit me in the forehead).

I really like my Daytona half helmet. Definitely not thin and light tho.

I mostly wear a modular full face esp when riding w/o the windshield on my RK. But might check out the Akoury for those cool summer evening rides.

About a year ago, read one of these threads which mostly recommended the Akoury AK-88 as being the best/ lightest DOT 1/2 helmet out there...

I bought 2, one for my GF and other for me...we both use the AK-88 on a regular basis even thou we don't have to wear anything!

These helmets are the best and the ratchet strap is just the icing on the cake...you won't go wrong with an AK-88!

Sometimes... recent accident in town resulted in a "quick stop." Rider's brain excited through his face then the eye-opening of his full-face helmet and was found relatively intact on the roadway. At least it wasn't a long lingering death...

That said I most often wear a Bell Pit Boss, occasionally a Bikershelmet.com, and rarely a Shoei RF-1200.
