Here's another option. Fit's in the saddlebag. Real Carbon Fiber. Under 2 pounds. Light enough that you actually forget you're wearing it. And it's DOT approved.
I live in Illinois, so rarely wear a helmet, but carry it for when I cross into helmet states.

I just did the same - was in the market for a new helmet myself as well. Thanks for the original post.

Let's be honest. Most of these novelty helmets will probably do about the same job of protecting your head as some of these DOT thin halfs. If you are involved in anything other than a low speed crash, the only thing that might protect you is a full face SNELL rated helmet. The rest of your body might be toast but your face will still look pretty for the open casket.

Here's another vote for http://www.bikerhelmets.com/. I have two friends with them and they love the helmet. One has been wearing a novelty helmet forever and made the switch, happily. S
